July 2016

Wow, The last few months have been a roller coaster ride for me. I quit my job, we sold our house, moved into an R.V., and traveled across the country to shop for a sailboat to call home. Now we have found a beautiful sailboat and are under contract to purchase her.

I’m new to this idea of blogging about my life and think I have lived a fairly boring life for most of it. But, I think this new chapter might be, at the very least, a little more interesting. I have actually enjoyed watching peoples heads explode, or implode, when I tell them what I'm doing, “I sold my house, quit my job and I'm going to live on a sailboat and travel.” Some people try and contain their reaction but you still see it in their eyes. And through their eyes you can see the wheels spinning at a very high rate of speed.  Other people aren't as contained and you can see the excitement they share for you come bursting out. Either way they all have a million questions and the conversations end with, “thats so cool” or “I wish I could do that”.

So with all that being said I am going to try and share my life, as much as and as beast I can with whoever wants to join us in our journey. I am sure Dawn will keep and share her own blog and she is a much better writer than I am since I have to break 18 years of law enforcement report writing habits and get a little more creative in my story telling. I think I will let this be the first post! For those wondering we are under contract to buy a beautiful 1996 Shannon 43. We will begin posting lots of pictures when we have unfettered access to the boat, closing day is currently July 27th.. After that we will begin the process of going through the boat bow to stern port to starboard and cleaning and inventorying everything on the boat… And there is a lot of spare parts and sailing equipment on this boat so its going to be a big job to move onto the boat… Oh well, thats part of the adventure…   Bon voyage. for now
